Daily Pre-Operation Check

Before operating the Monarch Tractor, allow time to check the condition of the tractor and fix any problems. Pre-operation checks should take place before the tractor is powered on. Make sure any attached implements are lowered to the ground and that the tractor is in Neutral.

To perform a daily pre-op check:

  1. Radiators. Make sure both radiator screens are clean and free of debris.
  2. Coolant. Check coolant level, adding coolant if needed.
  3. Lubricants. Clean and lubricate all grease fittings. Check hydraulic fluid level, adding hydraulic if needed.
  4. Brakes. Check foot brake and parking brake springs and linkages for mud, waste, or debris.
  5. Fluid Leaks. Check under the tractor for hydraulic fluid or gear oil leaks, especially if the tractor hasn't been used for a while. If you see any leaks, check for the cause and fix immediately.
  6. Underbody. The underbody of the MK-V is frequently exposed to harsh treatment. Dirt, mud, and animal waste can easily accumulate. Use water and soap to wash underbody. NEVER use a power washer.
  7. Tires. Check tire pressure and inspect for leaks or bulges.
  8. Seat. Check seat position controls, making sure the seat locks in place.
  9. Seat belt. Check that the buckle and retractor operate properly and smoothly. Check the belt webbing for cuts, fraying, wear, or damage.
