Built to Save Farming, Monarch Featured in Forbes Documentary

Monarch Tractor

Forbes named Monarch Tractor to its 2023 Next Billion-Dollar Startups list. Monarch's inclusion on the list as a future ag unicorn was based on its track record around growth and scalability, staying power and resiliency, and Monarch’s MK-V electric, driver-optional, and connected tractor as an impactful and relevant AgTech solution farmers both want and need

In this short documentary, Amy Feldman, Forbes’ Senior Editor and Editor for Forbes’ Next Billion-Dollar Startups list, takes viewers on a deep dive into Monarch Tractor, interviewing its four co-founders — Praveen Penmetsa (Chief Executive Officer), Zachary Omohundro (Chief Technical Officer), Carlo Mondavi (Chief Farming Officer), and Mark Schwager (President). Launching an agricultural company is tough and capital intensive, according to Forbes, but Monarch seems to have hit a tipping point.

Monarch's innovations diversify beyond autonomous, electric tractor sales. Forbes explains, “As Monarch expands, Penmetsa expects more of its revenue will come from software subscriptions that give farmers real-time alerts about sick plants and safety risks, plus gathering and crunching a ton of data to improve crop yields.”

Mondavi, a farmer himself says, “The greater data we can get, the more productive we can be as farmers.”
